while i agree with most of what you said, i’m sorry to say that i don’t completely agree. it’s not really that i’m angry at an serious issue being parodied, because in this case it’s really not the kidnap being parodied but charles ramsay and I don’t think that race should be taken out of the argument here; you’re ignoring some serious shit here if ya do. i think it’s worth noting that when a poc gets parodied (especially black people) the joke is usually centered on their dialect, their dress code becomes funny, just everything gets turned into a joke because people identify them with the dominant identity that the internet has assigned to them and in the case of black people, it’s being ghetto and “rachet” and i think it’s pretty obvious. just look at the “aint nobody got time fo dat” woman because if she didn’t look the way she did, i’m pretty certain she wouldn’t have been parodied. black people have been a joke on the internet for way too long and i’m thankful that grape drank and TREYVON WHERE MY CHILD SUPPORT AT-esque jokes have stopped but this shit needs to stop too.
Today my english teacher and I had a little bonding session over being feminists and we had a discussion about how people piss and shit on each other for pleasure.

I’m waiting for the day when black people aren’t seen as a fucking joke to the internet or the media all together. You mean to tell me that a man singlehandedly saved three women and a little girl from 10 years of captivity where they were subject to rape, violence and humiliation all while being malnourished (so malnourished that they had miscarriages) and he still gets parodied in those stupid fucking auto tune videos?
We all know thats not the first time either. I cant remember the guys name but his sister got raped or nearly raped, again I cant remember, and people take the shit out of him, you know despite the seriousness of the crime. The internet seems to have this fixation on “ratchet” (I hate that word so much), ghetto, black people who talk in a certain way and act like everything they do is so bloody comical. Just when I thought we’d finally moved on from the watermelon, grape drank and fried chicken jokes but now we have this.
It’s so fucking annoying to see black people turned into a comedy act all the fucking time and I will rejoice the day when it all stops being a joke.
i don’t think i can ever be sad again knowing parks and recreation exists, i’m being so serious.
